U.S. Department of Transportation is standardized on 100% special custom product that requires continual updates to special item numbers and pricing and customer’s own material since this customer has their own colorways by floor for all of their systems furniture and private office tackboard fabric.
The building consists of two wings, eighteen floors, with three custom colorways alternating by floor. All private offices have aesthetic customization which make each piece custom. Our design department updates the DOT Custom Catalog annually to include pricing. The scope of the project includes the design, maintenance, reconfiguration, procurement and warranty repairs for the 6500 workstations and private offices at DOT Headquarters.
After two years of service on this contract, the contract was expanded to provide the same standards program to the field offices nationwide and to GSA.
On a monthly schedule our certified installers go to Washington DC to ensure that the furniture is in good condition and provide any necessary warranty repairs in support of Herman Miller’s twelve year, three shift warranty to include labor.
